Running Board shipping cost

Has anyone ordered the running boards from one of the usual online sources like honda.oempartsonline or hondapartsdirect? I am curios on the shipping cost. Every one I check estimates over $300 shipping for the flat running boards, but only like $30 for the tube style. There can't be that big of a difference in weight and shipping dimensions to account for a $270 difference in shipping. I was going to do a local pickup since one of the dealers was only an hour away, but now they are not part of the site anymore.

I was thinking about getting running boards but I don’t feel the suv is high enough off the ground to warrant this? Any way the car can be lifted off the ground an inch like the trail sport??

I have the trailsport which is why I am looking to potentially add them, making it easier for my kids to get in and out. It’s still pretty new, but I would imagine there will be plenty of aftermarket lift kits available in the near future.

Try calling a local dealer. I was able to negotiate 15% discount for the flat running boards. When I picked them up, got home and realized they sent me home with the tubular style. They were very apologetic about it and had me come back for the correct package. The only thing I noticed was the box for the flat boards was significantly larger than the tubular box. Not sure if box size has anything to do with the shipping cost.
All in, I got them for $550.80 picked up at a local dealership.
