Like others I have read here, someone hit and run leaving a dent just forward of taillights on my 06 Pilot

Insurance did pay me off (less the deductible) but have not done anything yet since it is 16 years old (though less than 100K miles)

I have seen things on here about paintless dent removal but in researching that it appears you can go with suction cups or the glue gun/bridge thing.

Also thought I could try to get at it from inside and try to pound out but it appears to be right over rear speaker, and according to what I have read, taking that panel off is a nightmare, requiring removing rear seat to remove panel. I dont want to do that. Any ideas? I could do body shop route as insurance did pay me, but it would mean spending a couple grand for a sixteen year old car. If I could get it looking reasonably OK for less I would prefer that.

Call a paintless dent repair specialist in your area and get a quote. They have special tools they use and may not have to take the panel off. If they do, they likely have experience on Honda Pilots and will include it in their quote.

Your dent doesn’t look too bad from what I can tell so it will probably take 1-2 hours. You’re mainly paying for labor and overhead so I’d expect it to cost $300-$400.

Hit and runners suck. Sorry you have to deal with this. If you’re not too concerned with how it looks (in my opinion it’s not too bad) you might just pocket the payout and use those funds for future maintenance repairs.

If insurance has already paid you, might as well get it fixed. You have already most likely upped your rates, so you might as well get a clean looking vehicle out of it.
