I was wondering what gas you new Pilot owners put in your new Trucks, I have read that the Pilot takes regular and know that the MDX takes premium, but I don't understand why the difference both vehicles have a compression ratio of 10.0:1, can anyone clear this up my friend has an MDX and even he is sort of confused.

Basically shouldn't the Pilot be running on Premium to have all 240 horses at tap, I don't want it to lack in the performance area:confused:

Has to do with an improved O2 sensor which is on the 2002 Odyssey. The Pilot and Odyssey have a more similar setup than the MDX which has a little different intake manifold and torgue curve. Wait and see if the '03 MDX goes with regular fuel, I doubt it because they will probably up the hp to 260+ which most likely will require premium.
Stick with the regular fuel and save your money. It's what the engine is designed for.

According to Honda and my dealer, regular is fine to be used all the time except when towing a load. Using premium when towing reportedly increases horsepower a bit allowing easier towing. Whether that is true or not we'll wait to see.

Does anyone have any experiences with using regular versus premium fuel during normal driving or when towing?

Under normal conditions I'm going with the regular......why waste the money.

Cheese :D
