I'm looking for recommendations for car mounts / holders.

I have an iPhone 11, so it's pretty big (but not as big as a iPhone Plus), but ideally the holder would be easily adjustable for another driver's phone.

I've tried 2 of the kind that clips on to the vent. One of them was this one:

and the other one is an obsolete one made by VAVA, but they eventually started falling down - the vent is too thin to get a good hold on, I guess.

My husband had the kind that adheres to the front windshield and I wasn't crazy about that type.

Thanks so much!

I am using a Pro-Clip mount and holder. Purchased it from a fellow member on here who no longer had the car. Two different models for the 3rd generation Pilot. I got the one that clips just to the left of the vent next to the instrument panel. Installed in less than 5 seconds, comes off in the same amount of time. Very solid and rigid. I think the other version clips over by the glove box area?

I am using a Samsung A10, previously had a Samsung S-6. I like the driver's area clip because I can run the cable from the USB port up to it to use Android Auto/Car Play, or to charge it. The cable clips into part of the trim above the console on the left side, keeping it out of the way while plugged into the phone.

+1 for ProClip. Expensive, but the mounting is perfect and never falls down. I've used them in more than one vehicle and never been disappointed with the utility of them, despite the high price.

Thanks, everyone.

I was looking at the ProClip and it looks good except its too far to the left. I've been using a vent-mounted holder and I install as far to the right as possible because otherwise it interferes with using the windshield wipers. Maybe it has to do with how I have my wheel positioned.

I'm going to think about the cup holder one, but I do use my cupholders.

What about the magnetic kind? Do those work in a Pilot?

Just curious, what year vehicle/infotainment system do you have. I never bothered with a holder in my 2013 Pilot Touring or my current 2020 Passport Touring. Both had bluetooth connection that worked for the phone and the Passport has car play. I never pick up the phone so a holder is a mute point for me personally.

I have a 2017 with CarPlay. One problem is that I don't like the way CarPlay displays Waze. I end up unplugging my phone from the car in order to use Waze. Also, when my daughter is with me she plays music using her phone.

I really like it, easy to mount and the phone stays in place.

It's a moot point if you mute it. :p

But Proclip and CupFone are both good. It comes down to personal preference.

After trying several types, I've been happiest with this little flexible dude, believe it or not.

Amazon.com: Flexible Cell Phone Holder, 2 Pack - Silicone Car Mirror Mount for Mobile Phones - Great for Phone GPS Navigation, Battery Charging, Desktop Stand - Hang Your Phone Anywhere - Hands Free Phone Hanger

Or more specifically this dude.

US $2.91 |Hot Sale All purpose Phone holder humanoid silicone car holder universal Bondi BNDW Flexible Car Phone Holder and stand|Phone Holders & Stands| - AliExpress

I have a black one and my daughter wants a pink one (just ordered one for her). It says it's a mirror mount but I wouldn't put it up there. I untwist the little dude's "head" and stick it into the little top driver's side window defogger vent on the dashboard. Stays in place great. Cord, when I need to plug it in like on longer trips, comes out of the center console, is tucked out of the way in center console's rigid mesh and otherwise useless side pockets, then one loop-the-loop around the base of the shifter, then under the steering wheel, then another loop-the-loop around the base of the steering wheel angle adjuster, then the plug goes into the phone or just slightly "plugged into" the bottom left air vent for safekeeping when not in use. I had thought about rerouting the cable behind the dash, but even my OCD isn't triggered by its unobtrusive path.

Point is it has many placement options because the little dude is, well, just so flexible. :)

Thank you. Did you find that you need the version with the extension?
I don't use any. I am quite satisfied with car play as well as the nav system in the 2020 Passport. I have a few friends that use them though and they like them. As for an extension, I couldn't tell you, I think you would have to just take a few measurements and figure out if you needed it or not. If you got it without and found you wanted the extension you could always order it.
