Recall on 2020-2021 Pilot for mirrors

Looks like there's a recall for the side mirrors. Something about the heating pads not bonded with the mirror properly and would cause the mirror to fall out.

Honda will notify people on May 8th.

Haha, mine mirror started falling off a shortly after I bought the car. I ended up using epoxy to re-glue so I did not have to deal with dealership
Looks like some people are getting the recall letters. Haven't seen one yet.
Just contacted my saleslady at Honda and she said my vin was not affected (2020 Touring). So maybe not everybody is affected.
2020 Honda Pilot EX-L

Just had mine (attempted). The passenger one was replaced without a hitch, but the driver's side one now looks distorated since the replacement. I drove right back to the dealership and they swapped for another mirror - same issue. The service lady then proceeded to share they've been seeing this a lot lately with some of the mirror work and are still awaiting Honda's response on how to handle them.

Just posted on this in the other recall thread. There was (seems like there may still be) an issue with curved glass giving a blurry or funhouse effect. Our dealer ultimately had to order 20 just to get a handful normal mirrors to fix ours after 4-5 false starts just as you describe. New recall for 20-21 pilot for side mirrors.

Just brought mine for service and they asked if I wanted to take care of this recall. They replaced them and now the driver's side is distorted, blurred, similar to the fun house effect you talked about. The tech says mine is not that bad, but will replace. He said they might have a bad batch. I heard him discuss this with another employee. I had to drive back to the dealer since I noticed after picking up.
Great quality control by the dealer!! I am missing work for their lack of attention. No bueno.
I returned the next day and they went through 5-6 new and still all were warped. I have a trip this weekend, PA -> NC, and thankfully they're giving me a loaner to take for that. Hoping they get this sorted out soon.

For Post #7 - Given we dealt with ours in late 2021-early 2022, this seems to be more than just a singular bad batch versus ongoing manufacturing/manufacturer challenge.

For Post #8 - I generally dislike stealerships (a lot), but in this case I don't blame them quite as much.

We dealt with Anderson Honda (Cockeysville, MD). They went from being initially perplexed to a near-equal level of frustration themselves by the 3rd visit after continually getting bad parts over and over again. They even comp'd me a tank of gas at my 4th visit.

The warping/curvature is slight and it's hard to tell without the mirror being mounted or at least positioned. They took me back and showed me. Eventually either the service or parts manager just straight up ordered 20. Suggest trying to convince your Stealership to do the same... (and ask for the tank of gas :) )
