Well I mucked up this time. Taking my dog to the vet I usually lift her in and out, but this time I let her get back in by herself....well bad idea. Her claws caught the weatherstrip and ripped a hole about a inch long. New rubber is less than $100, but does anyone have service instructions on the proper way to remove the two trim parts covering the lower section? I am too particular about the car to leave it this way or to try and do a repair on it. 2013 Pilot. Thanks in advance.

The sill section pops out vertically. You can use some plastic trim tools, but the sills are very stiff and come out pretty much tool-less if you have strong hands. After the sill section is out, you can get the between-the-doors trim out of the way with hand pressure. To remove, you'll likely want the long bent spatula tool to reach the middle and pop it free.

Do make sure you get the correct one, as they are specific left or right door.
