134K on my 2003 EX-L. Don't know how many more miles we'll get. Wife is pushing hard for a Sequoia Limited.
Has the wife stopped at a gas station recently?

Yes she has. On the Highway the Pilot averages about 20 and the Sequoia given others experiences should average 17-19. I'm sorry but I don't get caught up in the Gas price frustration because the realization is that Gas prices have just begun to catch up to the surrounding economy.

I agree that they are not as significant as most people make them out to be, but they are going to continue to increase.

I would not worry about highway mileage as much as her actual driving.

My daily driving is virtually impossible to compare because of conditions. I've got about 1200' elevation change between the house and town and in actuality the sequoia would theoretically be a little more efficient because of the elevation change and the ability of the engine to pull at a lower rpm. Having said that the real reason for the sequoia is the increase in space with the thoughts of expanding the family by two additional members and grandma along for some road trips. If it uses more fuel then I just view it as my way of contributing to the economy! :D

104,000 on my 2003 Pilot. I bought with "Free Tires For Life", so I have had all service done at the dealer. No Mech trouble until about 85,000 when the transmission started acting weird. Honda paid for new (rebuilt) tran and I paid for labor. At the same time, I had the tran oil cooler added as extra insurance. At 98000 mi the EGR went bad. Had it replaced (Honda helped with the cost due to the TSB) and took the opportunity to also replace the timing belt and water pump. Also asked the dealer to check my AC which was not working at all in rear and very poorly in front. They wanted $250 to replace a rear blower transistor and did nothing as far as the rest of the system. I bought the transistor and changed it out myself in 5 minutes, saving $150. Then got a Freon recharge at Midas for $40 and all is well. Now I have a pulsating "washboard" noise in front end that starts at 30mph and gets worse at higher speeds. Thought it might be the tires, but once it starts, I hear it all the way back to 0 mph, so my concern is wheel/axle bearings may have been damaged when the tran was replaced. Going to the dealer tonight - wish me luck!

I still love this SUV, though. Nothing else I know of can haul 8 adults at 22mpg for the money.

"Free Tires for Life" was a dealer promotion running when I bought my '03 Pilot. As long as most service is done at the dealer (I do anyway), they replace the tires when necessary. They just replaced tires for the third time! I only have to pay for balance and 4-wheel alignment (which I would do at this point anyway). And these are OEM spec for the Pilot, not cheap offbrands.

Dealer only offered this for a short time until they realized it would cost them a fortune.

How do you get only 34k miles to a set of tires?

What did it cost?

What do they charge for the Alignment and Balance?

I have yet to get (or need) an alignment on my Pilot.

103,000 Miles and we just bought it :D

This guy kept this beautiful 2003 Pilot EX-L in such terrific shape it looks new. Plus you could eat off the engine, although in the handbook it says that is not recommended :p

I was about to ask about the 105,000 mile service and what I should do to the Pilot then, but I found a thread, kind of, relating to it here:

138,000 & going strong!

I just rolled over 138,000 on my 2003 Pilot and it runs great. I had the timing belt changed at around 120,000, but should've done it earlier I know. I did switch to Mobil 1 Synth oil back at 80,000 miles and seems to run better (smoother & more responsive). The only problem I've had is a ghost in the door lock system - it will sometimes lock & arm itself without notice. I've learned to make sure the keys are in my hand when I get out! Overall, a great car!

2005 w/ 150k Miles

Bought this new from our dealer here in VA. We have driven it to TX and back and I now use it as my daily commuter. I recently went over 150,000 miles. We have not had any issues mechanically but road noise. I've been through some mild off road places and have had to do some dramatic manuevering to avoid "creative" drivers and this SUV has always felt very secure and solid.
