Pilot vs MDX

Well, I figured I'd get things started since I figure a bunch of folks might be trying to understand the difference between the Pilot and its "big brother" the Acura MDX. I've shamelessly taken them from a great series of posts by wmquan over on acuramdx.org. Perhaps our generous host can help w/fixing the table formatting w/all the blanks @ the top. I can't figure that part out :8:

We own both an Acura MDX with NAVI and Touring package and a Pilot EXL with NAVI. My heated seats and remote starter are being installed in the Pilot as we speak. I had to drive the the Pilot out to the installer which is about 25 minutes away last night , with my son following me in the MDX. I drove the MDX home. The ride of the MDX is tighter and smoother than the Pilot, but only very slightly. If I hadn't driven them one right after the other I would be hard pressed to tell the difference. I think the tranny/engine on the MDX is a little bit smoother in gear changes , but again , I think the difference is very subtle . I think the reason that you can't get some of the Acura's features is because then every one would be able to figure out that for the price of a Pilot you would basically have an MDX. I paid $1000 less than list for my Pilot. Hope this info is value. Regards, Tom.
Heated Side Mirrors

Do I gather some Pilots don't have heated side mirrors? Mine (Pilot EX) definitely has heated mirrors which are manually activated by a small switch beside the remote mirror switch.
Canadian Models Only??????

I'm beginning to wonder if the PILOTs made for Canada are the only ones with Heated Side Mirrors. If that's the case, too bad - I'd love that option here in the Denver, Colorado area.

Heated Side Mirrors would have been real handy the other nice when Denver was hit with freezing drizzle and my PILOT was coated with ice!

I hope HONDA isn't thinking that it DOES NOT GET ICY in the U.S.!!!

Heated mirrors, heated seats, daytime-running lights, low wiper fluid light (guess we could use that on the leaky nozzle models!), and tan interior with Red Rock paint are all Canada only options.

But wait and see, in either next model year or before the first big change of the Pilot I would expect to see all these changes along with an in-dash 6-disc changer/ MP3 player and a sunroof. Sort of like the SE version of the CR-V. It had all the options people were clamoring for in an upscale package.
You may want to add a block heater to your list. Either that or the dealer installed it on my Pilot EX by mistake.
