Got this email from the 'dealer' where I bought my Pilot. I'm guessing it really came from some software or 3rd party service they subscribe to to handle this sort of thing for them.

I sent an email to the service manager at the dealership to see if he could shed some light on what this "essential maintenance" really is. Links in the email just went to the dealership service department account setup page.

Less than 2k miles on the car, oil life is at 80%. If I ever get a response I'll let you guys know what he said. Otherwise I'm just going to wait until the maintenance minder tells me it's time for a service.

My guess is they want to get me in for an oil change and anything else they can try to up-sell.

If your doing your own maintenance, your less likely to trade in 2-4 years. Have you disabled the VCM on your new Pilot?

Still no response from the dealer so I'm going with it's really not that 'essential.' And they probably have no clue what their email marketing is sending out.
I dunno, I'd probably still loose sleep over it! LOL
