I don't think I would have the sensor installed if it is just a spare. The system does not monitor the spare when it's back there. If it matched the other ones and you were going to put it into rotation that would be different.

Agreed. Plus, if you don't have a TPMS sensor on the wheel, the indicator will be lit on the dashboard. That's a nice little reminder that you're using the spare and need to get the regular tire repaired or replaced. You wouldn't want to forget you had the spare installed.

I'm in a similar situation. Proud new owner of a 2011 Pilot EX-L and would like to get a full sized spare.

Searched on tirerack site and they do have 17x8 wheels/rims. Would this fit on the 2011 Pilot as the specs as posted above is 17x7.5.

Also, a "regular" tire/wheel to be used as a full-sized spare ... would there be a mounting problem in the spare tire well under the Pilot as I think the spares has a big hole in the middle to mount cable/attachment mechanism? (I'll have to look again on how the spare is mounted).

You might be better off looking for someone selling their stock wheels. Look in the Classifieds section, CraigsList or even eBay for someone selling a stock wheel from a 2009-2011 Pilot (same size).

Also, what do you mean by "regular tire/wheel"? Do you mean steel instead of alloy? If so, I think you'd be fine as just about all wheels have a hole in the center.

OK, tried Ebay, craigslist, local classified. Not that much luck. Ebay has 17x4 full size spare rim for under $50-ish + shipping.

Looked again at tirerack, would rather go w/ the aftermarket wheel for $120-130.

Anyone know if the listing on the site for 17x8 will fit the 2010-2011 Pilot EX-L (As noted by OP, Pilot is 17x7.5)?

All the other specs looks compatible w/ the Pilot.

Not sure if the OP still has them for sale or if he's even willing to sell them individually, but it might be worth a shot.

I also agree with Rocky... I prefer going with a matching wheel, but that's up to you.
