I did have a misfire on cylinder 6. I reset the fault code and it ran fine until i was going down the road and stepped on the gas, the engine revved and after a few seconds is when i got the code again. Then the engine went limp and it ran like crap.
Now we get the rest of the story.
Perhaps the valve clearance needs to be adjusted.
Plus, it's getting close to the point at which the spark plugs should be replaced.

Can incorrect valve clearance cause P3400? I like how the manual says "adjust valve clearance if they're noisy". I can hear clicking, is that "noisy"?

Plugs were replaced at 55k miles. Kept getting a misfire code, so I took it to the dealer and they recommended new plugs.

Recently, if ya'll recall, I had a misfire codes on all but #2 cylinder. BUT- it ran fine!!!
This is on my 08 SE FWD, now with 189K miles.

I unhooked the Neg. battery cable.
I turned the key on- battey unhoooked- I heard this can clear a few things in capacitors, I dunno.
I hooked it back up. Drove it.
Months later- still running well- no code lights.

Sometimes- those codes are a crock. Anytime the ECU gets any data it is not familiar with, it can and often does throw a code.- Sometimes- I use my case as an example.

I COULD have thrown ALL kinds of $$ at it. But I said, ya know, it runs fine, lets try the old school way of re resetting the codes and see if it comes back.
Cost? $0

Months later- still no codes- runs great.
