My Check Engine Light showed up today when I rev-ed the engine. I do that every once in a while to clear the debris in the throttle combustion chambers.
Went home and hooked my trusted Veepeak OBD device and out came the P0847 code.

Looked up the Honda Pilot service manual and it says that the it could mean:
  • electronic sensor for the D3 is faulty
  • ATF transmission fluid is low

I checked the dip stick for the ATF and it was, indeed, low.
Filled up the ATF to FULL, cleared the code and tested it for about 10 miles and rev-ed it.

All is well now.

Thought I share this with you all, in case you see the same thing. It may not always mean there are electronic sensor failures.
Make sure you check your ATF fluid level.

Had the fluid been changed recently? Is the drain plug tight?
I'd also inspect the hoses going to the radiator for possible leaks.

No leaks that I know of. Just hasn't been replaced for a long time and I have not been checking it often enough.
I'll keep an eye on it to see if there are any leaks.
