P0507 HIGH IDLE 2009 PILOT

My 2009 honda pilot has been idling high since I replaced PCV, EGR, and TB cleaning. There are NO other codes except for P0507 idle higher than expected. On start up, the check engine light is on and idles at about 1000rpm. After warming up, VTM-4 light pops up and idle increases to 1300-1500rpm. Any ideas?

You might have a vacuum leak, or something not quite clean or right with the TB cleaning, so witch hunt those. Otherwise, with Honda's it might need an idle relearn, which involves idling for like 6 hrs (I exaggerate) with all the accessories off, then A/C on, then headlights, then in drive. @Slvr7 or @Nail Grease probably have the procedure memorized.

The salient points; it has to be fully up to temp, where the radiator fan has cycled a few times. It has to sit at idle for 5 min with absolutely no load.

I have a 2011 Pilot EXL

This is the crazy thing: I got the P0507 Code; and my Check the Emissions light comes on, with the VTM-4 Light(goes on and off). I don't have the high throttle, but if I don't get it fixed, I can't drive my Pilot!
I took it to my mechanic, and he replaced the vacuum hose, thought that would do the trick. Seemed like it did, but for only about 100 miles, and then the lights came on all over again!
He doesn't even know what's going on with my Pilot. This is getting scary.

Possible Causes…
  • Dirty throttle body
  • Electric throttle control actuator misadjusted or damaged
  • Faulty Electric throttle control actuator
  • Intake air leak
  • Poor electrical connection to the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve
Sometimes corrosion can form around the throttle plate, causing it to stick. My first step would be to remove intake hose and inspect for debris, grime and/corrosion. Remove throttle body and clean inside and out with new throttle body gasket. Then perform the idle relearn procedure.
Also inspect air intake hose for cracks. Replace if needed.
Clean the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF)
