Saw an H2 Hummer drive buy the other day. What a humungous vehicle. Looks smaller in the commercials. It really makes it's presence known. Kinda like when Shaq walked into a casino I was in at Vegas. Everyone ooohs and aaahs at it.
For a LONG time I thought it would be ultra-cool to own a Hummer. I really, really, really wanted a Honda-SUV but I didn't like the CrV (first year) and I didn't want the Passport.
Then, here came THE PILOT.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, I love the PILOT.
She's beautiful without looking garish; with smooth styling and soft lines. Its a V6, and a VTEC V6 at that, so she's peppy and robust, with great handling. Plus, she's made by Honda and I've never had a bad Honda.
If you said to me, "Look at this photo and tell me the one you want." I'd have to pick the Pilot.
Sorry Hummer. You lose baby. Now if it was between a Hummer and an Explorer, or an Aztec, or a Grand Cherokee, or frankly anything else - yeah, I'd have to take that Hummer.
In my area there are way more Hummer H2's than Pilots. One of my friends just got one, and i must say... i was very impressed. So what if its built off of a Suburban chassis... its basically got all the hop ups built in from the factory to take on trails like the Rubicon, it seems just as easy to drive around the city as our Pilot, feels alot tougher, and it has no leather sag whatsoever. I am still content with our Pilot... but seeing these new Hummers around make me feel like I am driving a wagon.
Hmm, maybe if Jaos (www.jaosusa.com) started making parts for the Pilot... then it would toughin up its looks a bit... then i can take it medium offroading.
