Opinion on buying 2006 Honda Pilot EXL-RES FWD with 160k miles

$5500 seems a bit high to me also, but seems to be the going price for the times. FWD? Front or 4 wheel drive?
To be fair, the badge is almost deliberately ambiguous. :)

On our 2006 and 2007, Honda badges them as "4WD," but you have to look closely because the "4" is stylized to look a lot like an "A."

Guess some marketing genius thought that would be both ambiguously plausible and leet.

TPMS is not a dealbreaker, I'd say. When I got my Pilot, the TPMS light was on. You can choose to ignore it and check your tire pressure old school with a gauge, or if you're OCD like me you can get new ones. :)

@plplplpl re TMPS: I agree. I never replace TPMS sensors when they fail, and ask for a plug. MAYBE if the dashboard told you the current tire pressure it would be worth it, but I've deflated my tires down to 20psi when on the beach and didn't get a warning. If I remember correctly, I got one tire down to like 12psi before getting a warning. Plus - I'm a little anal about tire pressure, as I've found mismatched tire pressures cause all sorts of handling issues that feel like a mis-alignment. So I can feel a deflated tire before the system would warn me. Not to mention its just another complex system where things break and I don't have the tools, time, or patience to pair new parts.

I get it. I like both. I want my TPMS functioning with no orange dash light burning into my retinas, plus I like to check and adjust my PSIs old school, with a manual gauge and the electronic gauge on my little air compressor.

Guess that make me even more... retentive... than you. :)
