Okay, one final post. I had to update my avatar, so since I'm logged on... (I didn't know where to place this thread so here's as good a place as any.)

...it has been brought to my attention that my somewhat constant bombardment of goofiness (funny pics & threaddrift) may not be appropriate here. Thus, in order not to offend anybody, I will cease and desist from continuing. The last thing I want is for people to be upset with me. Thanks to all who enjoyed a good laugh from time to time and many humble apologies to all who thought I went overboard...

I wanted to make a separate thread/post (I forget where airgate made his goodbye) because colorider and dandbtucker are out of town. I had a great time here, met many wonderful people (I'm afraid to start listing them for fear I leave someone out and it's 1:40 am and I should be in bed), and even put together a successful Group Buy!! Take care everyone and as Sage would say, "Safe Piloting!!!"

Hasta la bye bye.....

No way!!

Kemo,
Are you serious? C'mon man, you can't be leaving us. I just so happen to be on at 1:40 in the morning also to make a post -- and I see this. Why does it have to be that way? You don't have to really go into banishment -- do you? I have been gone for a few days -- come back on and I see this. Tell me it isn't TRUE my friend!

Now wait just a minute. If the forum moderators say that it is not appropriate, then so be it, but stay with us! I always look forward to your pics.. (Just tone then down a bit and I am sure it will be fine)

We family have to stay together..

But if you are leaving, drop by with a pic or two once in awhile..

take care
 :)

Say it isn't so! I've only been here a week and you have cracked me up every single day. I thought....wow! There is someone who has the technical know how to do exactly what I would only think about doing (Well, not the near naked ladies in bikinis,) but the other hilarious pictures and snappy comebacks. You were so helpful and answered all my seemingly inane questions. I hope you are only kidding.:(

kemosabe - I haven't been on the boards much lately and this was certainly the last post I would have expected to see! I don't know all the details of what's been said or done but I certainly hope that maybe you'll reconsider your decision. I've always enjoyed your posts and it's always nice to see any posts from a Maryland neighbor.

If your decision is final then good luck and God Bless you as you move on to future endeavors.

kemosabe, without you this would be just another site, BORING. When I first started visiting the site, it was to learn more about the Pilot, but lately that became secondary reason. I now visit to get a break from the daily thing and enjoy the humor. You are by far the biggest contributor to the fun and humor that honda-pilot.org has to offer. I never thought that any material posted here was offensive, but not everyone thinks alike. This is a sad day for honda-pilot.org

I'm sure there are many more people that enjoy your pics and funny posts than don't. I always get a kick out of them.

In the post about you beating out N_Jay for #1 I said something about limiting pics to off topic areas. That had nothing to do with you at all and I hope you didn't take it that way. It was just a suggestion so 56k users trying to get info off these boards would have a faster load times.

Better suggestion: If you can choose to turn off pics so they will appear as a link and not the image. Then individuals could decide if they want the images shown.

Kemosobe you are a great part of this board. You have alot of good information to share and make it humorous.

Don't leave. Just because a minority of users expressed displeasure, it does not represent the majority of us. No one should leave from both sides as we are all contributers to the board.

Besides someone posted info how to suppress pictures when accesing the boared via a slower connection.

THERE.... PROBLEM SOLVED

I think if Kemo doesn't show up aerostar45, Rainbowslim, Ziploc, the other Marylanders, and I are going to have to head out to Germantown and do a little Pilot search and rescue mission.

Driver is presumed armed and humorous

You can't go! Your vast knoweldge of this automobile and great advise far outweigh your entertainment value! I love the pics though, I don't see anything wrong with them.

kemosabe,

I agree with all who have posted, you must stay. It is not often someone can make a discussion site so interesting. As for the pics, RUFIO has that "problem" solved for those who don't want/like them. This site only works and is enjoyable because of ALL the members who contribute in their own ways.

Please reconsider!

I don't post very often, but that doesn't mean that I don't come to this site several times a day (OK, more than several, but who's counting?), anyway, I have been a member of this board from early on and there have always been a few members who stand out for either their expertise, helpfulness or humor. Some have come and gone due to time constraints or whatever, but then a new member comes and livens up the board again. That is where you come in, Kemosabe. You have brought much humor and technical expertise to this forum and it would be our loss if you left. As I said, I don't post very often, but only when I feel the need to. This is one of those times. The vast majority of the members here look forward to your posts and I might add, they are not only picture-related. There have been many times where you have jumped in with helpful hints or suggestions to those that needed help. I think that you have honestly enjoyed coming here and meeting some great people. Don't let a few words of criticism chase you away. Everyone is open to their opinions. That is what this forum is all about. Sometimes you might agree, and sometimes you might not, but that doesn't mean that you have to leave. You are a well-liked member of this board and I honestly don't think any criticisms were aimed at you personally.
Come back, OK? :)

FWIW we typically let the membership "moderate" itself. Pretty much anything goes (no porn, racial slurs, etc, of course) unless the community objects. They have that ability through the "report post to moderator" button.

IIRC, we have *never* received a complaint, via that button or PM/email, regarding the content, size or frequency of kemosabe's posts. Of course, there have been a few that I thought might invite objection, but it's YOUR board and if it's OK w/you, it's generally OK with us.

The only caution I'd provide that if there's nudity or something that is potentially inappropriate for work, the thread topic be labeled as such ("NWS" meaning not work safe is a common way to preface the subject). I know on the CL board that a few companies ended up blocking access to the site because of too many nudie pics.

Kemosabe, please reconsider!!!!

Really, Kemosabe, I think this board will suffer greatly without your presence. So often, you expressed a humorous thought or perspective that I would have loved to have been able to do--but lack the technical expertise. And, you have contributed more than your share of good insights/comments about the Pilot itself.

I gotta agree with Paul V7--us local people are gonna have to get together a posse in search of a certain Sandstone Pilot EX-L RES on the loose around Germantown.

As has been said before, this board is like a big family get-together at a picnic where we discuss our common interest--the Pilot--but enjoy discussing and laughing about plenty of other stuff.
Seriously--no kidding--please reconsider a decision made at 1:40 a.m. (!) and come back to the "family"!

As another Ford Explorer is towed to the dealer, The Lone Ranger and Tonto quietly drive by in their reliable Honda Pilot. Tonto asks "now that roads safer, you take off mask?"

"No," The Lone Ranger replies, "I'm going to continue wearing this mask as long as there are inferior SUV's. I want to make this a safer place to live. Come on Tonto, we've got lots of trails to drive!"

Inside the Ford Dealer, the stranded Ford owner turns to the service manager and asks him who that masked man was. "I don't rightly know" says the service manager, "but I heard the indian call him Kemosabe!"

Back outside, The Lone Ranger and Tonto ride into history as the sound of "Hi-Yo Silver Away" fills the air.
