Dealer supposedly put in a new serpentine belt, at least i got charged for one, but their mutli point inspection said my belt looked worn (!). Does anyone know if a new OEM belt has any markings on the outside of it? I dont see any markings on my current belt and its hard for me to tell ifs a new belt or not. It was closing time at the dealership so I didn't not this mishap until I got home and went over their paperwork.
Thanks.

Typically the belt is only replaced at the same time as the timing belt around 105k miles.
Belts have manufacturers markings.

Most dealers will replace with Bando branded belts as that is the OE supplier. So look for markings similar to this:

But outside of markings, it should be easy to tell a new belt vs an old one.

Yeah I went in for the cylinder miss fire fix and supposedly had the pump, timing belt, tensioner and serpentine belt replaced while they were in there. 116k miles on my 2012 ex-l.
