Received my 2023 sonic grey touring 4 days ago. Have put it thru the paces the ride is excellent, very quiet, transmission smooth as silk. This is my 4th pilot so I certainly have something to compare it to. I traded in my 2019 ex-l up here about 15 miles north of Boston. The 9" screen is great, not to small and not to big. My adult children love it and so does the wife. Filled the tank yesterday the gas station attendant stated to me "Wow" what a beautiful car. In my opinion this car is a major upgrade to the 3rd gen pilots. I tried out the auto stop at traffic lights, it starts so quickly you dont even notice the car starting. I have to small grandchildren that take up the outer 2 seats in the second row with their car seats, as you know you cant push the seats forward to enter the 3rd row but the new removable middle seat easily lifts out out and solves that problem. So would I recommend this car to a friend, ABSOLUTELY.

Just some people being nitpicky... I can understand people hoping the perfect car comes out and being disappointed by certain aspects. At the end of the day, most vehicles aren't perfect so each buyer has to set their priorities and get what suits them best.

Case in point - my brother-in-law just drove home a Palisade SEL last night. I'd been trying to get him on the new Pilot among other vehicles but it had the best features at the price range and he liked the looks better (he might need his eyes checked) than most of the competitors. Nice vehicle, I'd have no issue owning one or driving it across country but it probably wouldn't be the one I buy right now.

Thanks for your review, this is helpful as prospective buyers search for owner reviews.

Invino is correct, small a with word off bottom left on the shifter. Once the car has started push the button in and the auto stop will be disabled. When you start the car it always defaults to on. Not a big deal, half the time i forget to push the button, as soon as you take your foot off the brake it starts in a nano second, you wont even notice it it happens so fast

Thanks for your review! From my understanding, only the Elite trim has power folding mirrors. On the Touring trim, can you manually fold the side mirrors in?

Also, does anyone know if the power folding mirrors on the Elite trim can fold-in independently? To back into my garage, I like using the side mirrors, but I would need to fold one mirror in to clear my garage door width.

I am a true music lover and I am happy to say that the 12 speaker Bose system is much better, it will blow you out of the car if you let it. As for MPG I haven't checked it yet.
I am not an audiophile and my frame of reference is a 2010 Odyssey EXL and a 2014 Accord V6 (which I think does have an "upgraded system") but what is so much better about these? Is it that they have a subwoofer? Or is it that they have more speakers so can go louder and also more clear sound?

I am no audiophile either but yes it does have the 12 speakers and a subwoofer. I turned up the base on mine a couple of notches and that
was an overkill. We're all humans, we're all different to me it sounds great to you it may suck what can I say.

Bose has more dynamic range (higher fidelity) than the standard system. Usually, the system is acoustically tuned to the cabin, so the the sound is more accurately reproduced without distortion. For example, you feel the base without the cabin resonating, and it doesn’t over power the mid and high frequencies and make your ears hurt. That said, I don’t know much about the Bose system in the new Pilot—does it have a Bose amp powering it or just Bose speakers? If it’s just the speakers, the improvement will be less apparent.

I dont think you can adjust the sub woofer, when your playing music there s a sound button you can click on the upper right of the screen, it allows you to adjust treble, bass, moving the sound to front back, etc; but i did not notice any mention of the sub woofer.

Bass comes from the subwoofer. If you can adjust the bass, you can/are adjusting the subwoofer.

The Bose sound system is definitely an upgrade to any previous Honda unbranded upgraded audio system. It offers solid clarity, bass, and treble. The center point surround tech is decent too. With that said, it doesn’t compare to any upmarket systems. If anyone has tested the ELS, Bang and Olufsen, or other premium systems, the Bose is a solid B compared to them without costing thousands upon thousands more.

Honda obviously didn’t want to step on Acura’s toes with an equivalent sound system. The bass and treble are good but not super clear and the bass lacks some punch. The ELS also envelops you in the sound more than the Bose system in the Pilot. The system does maintain reasonable clarity even at volume, though, which is usually when a weaker system will give way.

I haven’t tested the base audio in the Pilot, but it was never a consideration for me. I am particular about sound systems, and this is actually my first Honda. I never considered Honda prior because they wouldn’t put a decent sound system in their vehicles. It’s a sticking point for me, and I do realize most people don’t care as much as I do about it.
