Looking for alloy wheels - what other brands fit the Pilot?

I have a 2011 Pilot LX and I'm looking to upgrade the wheels to alloy, primarily for handling so I'm not too concerned about how they look, aside from them looking more OEMish than flashy aftermarket looking. In fact, I was thinking of sanding them down and painting them black.

I've been looking at Ridgeline, Odyssey, and Acura MDX wheels. I'm just wondering if there are other cars that would also have wheels that work. I see some BMW X5s use the same bolt pattern, but a 40mm offset. If I remember correctly, the Pilot's offset is 45mm, right? How close do I have to be to that?

Also, if the wheel size, bolt pattern, and offset are all the same, I should be able to just swap the tires and wheels, right? Do I need to worry about any weird clearance issues with the brakes or something?

Lighter is better, so I was considering looking at sedan wheels too but I'm concerned about the wheels being strong enough for the Pilot.

Thanks!

If you stay with the available wheel sizes (or larger) and (nearly) the same offsets the car is sold with, you will not have any clearance issues.

Wheels from BMW X3 and X5 are direct fits, I've done it myself. However, in my case the TMPS was not the same or the wheels did not have the sensors. I didnt know which and didnt care at the time as I was experimenting with wheels/tires for towing.

And along with TPMS and bolt pattern matching, the other item to be aware of is the center hub diameter. With the BMW wheels, I just got lucky. Trying to find what other OEM wheels measure in the center I found to be very difficult.

Its worth noting I needed after market lug nuts also, the big Honda lugs do not work with any other wheels besides their own apparently.

Were I to do it all over again, I would stick with Honda/Acura wheels, or buy an all new package from Tire Rack. (I ended up buying a complete package from Tire Rack)

if you buy new wheels, save the old wheels.

if you decide to put winter tires, you can mount it on the old wheel.

Hi guys,

I hope you don't mind if I resurrect this thread. I have a 2013 Pilot and I'm looking for a winter wheelset. I see the following GM products appear to match (5-120), but I have my doubts about backspacing and hub bore.
Does anyone have any experience they would like to share?
I guess I could ask if they'll let me do a quick fit up...
