I am thinking about adding the 2020 Touring/Elite LED headlights to my 2016 Touring. I am irritated that the 2016-2018 Touring got those cheap halogens. The 2020 Touring/Elite headlights are rated very well (in regards to safety) and I think that they look very sharp. In fact, I think they look better than the 2016-18 Elite LEDs (as you can see in the pictures below). I assume that they will fit my 2016 since the 2020 body style is virtually unchanged from the 2016 body style. I don't want "aftermarkets" because I want something from the manufacturer that I know will be safe and work well. Thoughts? Has anyone else done this?

Thanks!

Have you priced them? They are $850 each. And they are NOT plug-n-play.

Here is a post with all kinds of questions and answers about the LED lights added to models which don't have them. I didn't go through the post but you should be able to find some answers and some suggestions of what you can or can not do.

Whoever approved those lights in the design has NEVER had to drive toward one in the pitch black dark on a country road. They are the absolute worse. One time I flashed my brights at a truck that had those because I thought his brights were on and he flashed back to show they weren't. I had to come to a complete stop until he passed because I was approaching a curve and I couldn't see anything.

I like the new ones, adds some visual pop to the front end.

If you look closely, you would also have to replace your fenders, 2 part chrome grille, painted bumper........ Most likely the entire front end must be rebuilt with new model parts.

According to @EzeE1o , if you knew your stuff a little better you wouldn't have falsely rained on anybody's party!

Now after my comparison post pic, is a hailstorm on the party. Run for Cover!

your pic is slightly different angles, that's why you think the fender is different.
also, here is a pic of the LED headlamps on an earlier 3rd gen:

Then when you compare the back, it appears the connections are not the same. 2016 on top.

the back of the headlight doesnt matter, i'm only talking about you claiming that someone needs to change the fender and bumpers. is the pic of the black, pre-facelift pilot with the new LED's not good enough for you??

I believe within a current year, all fenders are the same P/N. But between years (i.e. 2016 vs. 2020), the fender P/Ns are not the same. The original posting asked about putting 2020 LED headlights on a 2016 Touring.

What I don't know is what the difference is - might not be the shape around the headlights.

ok thats fine that the part numbers are different. doesnt mean that a 16-18 pilot owner cant use their existing fenders, grill, bumper.

Ok. I'll stand corrected.

I went with a well-reviewed pair of LED bulbs in the stock halogen housings in our 2017 Touring Pilot. Low beams only at this point in time, but made a nice difference for $60. You can get cheaper ones, but they vary a lot in quality / beam pattern. Fool proof way is to buy the HID kit from xenondepot. I think they'd be a bit brighter than the low beam LEDs we have, but I'm not sure I really need anymore.
