Hi all,

I've been chasing after a set of 19" ZDX wheels for my Pilot but they're tough to find and not cheap with tires (I personally don't like the aftermarket look for wheels on the family truck). I've noticed there's a ton of Range Rover / Land Rover takeoff wheels out there (because I assume lots of owners of Rovers go aftermarket immediately) and I love the look of Rover wheels. The bolt pattern is the same (5 X 120), I checked on this site: 1010tires.com and the tire change is just within maximum allowance of +/-3% so the only concern is width. It seems the factory 18's both touring and the 5 spoke are set pretty far in on the vehicle so I'm dying to know if anyone has put Range / Land Rover wheels on a Pilot before and if they fit / how did they look in terms of width... anyone?

Here's the Range Rover wheel options
255/50/19x9 +53mm
255/55/19x8 +57mm
255/50/20x8.5 +58mm

Haven't seen these wheels on a Pilot, but as you found, they will work. Not sure about TPMS, you may have to replace those @ $30 a pop.

I can share what I know about the 19" wheel size on the Pilot though...as this is what I run.

255/50 R19 is the same beefy tire the MDX runs. Lots of SUV, Touring, and Performance options. Speedo error is so slight it would not be noticeable.

245/55 R19 begins to look more like the 18" OEM tire but slightly lower profile and calculates to result in a noticeable speedo error. Tire Rack recommends this size for the Pilot because again...there are a many SUV, Touring and Performance options here too.

245/50 R19 is all performance and results in ZERO speedo error. Its low profile and looks wide. Tire options are mostly ultra high and high performance. This is the size I currently use.

Ah... do you know if I can easily remove my TPMS from the 17 inch steel LX wheels and use them in the new wheels?

Gonna slap them on this weekend along with my premium boards. Will share pics. Stay tuned.

I know the same Honda TPMS sensor is used on Honda steel and Honda alloy wheels for the Pilot, I have no clue if they fit other OEM wheels.

The Honda TMPS does fit many aftermarket wheels however!

Correct - hate the aftermarket wheels that a friend let me borrow to see if I like to buy, 18's (for a very good price), they look terrible though. Now looking at my options and then returning his wheels... geez, nosy, this forum is paranoid.

I have considered putting RR wheels on my wife's "09, I think that a set of the "stormer" style wheels would look like factory fit. I have the same problem as you though...can't get a straight answer from anyone on the final fit. I'm afraid that they will poke out beyond the fenders.

Yeah, I really dig the stormers and they could be a great look. I tried calling some of the places that sell them as they say call our "specialists" to see if the wheels will fit but they can never guarantee either way. I might find a bigger operation nearby me that sells lots of takeoffs and see if I can talk them into trying to bolt a set up just to see if they fit… but won't be off my current work project until next week so it'll be a little while.

There are several companies selling "factory replica" RR stormer wheels on ebay....I wonder if they would be lighter. If I drove the Pilot, I would drop the cash and take the chance. It's my wife's vehicle though, and she's not too good at dodging pot-holes...so, I'm in no hurry.

The wheels may be the only thing good about a Range Rover.
obviously you don't own one. but it is true some range rovers have its quirkiness even if bought new and sometimes just lucky to have a trouble free one. just like some honda pilot owners.

Range Rover wheels are weighty simply because of their need to handle off road abuse.
Ody drivers often go with BMW wheels.
There is a second Gen pilot picture sold somewhere here with ZDX wheels and it looked great.
