I do not have a Key Number Plate. Dealer did not give me one along with the keys. But the service manual says it is included.
Is it included? Did you guys get a key number plate?.

Yes. Each delivery of a new Pilot should include one.

I didn't get one either. I got a plastic tag with some bar code on it while I was expecting to get a metal tag with numbers on it, similar to the one I got for my Accord. I asked my dealer and here is what he said: "Well, about the key tag. It is a key code for your key but consider useless for your type of key, Honda can not made a new key just with the key tag like old days. They have to had one of your actual key in order to made one..."

Does that sound right?

The reason I'm asking is because I've seen Lease Co. keeping a set of the keys or the number plate in case they need to repo the car. Depends on the bank.

So, is the "Key Tag" mentioned in the manual nothing more than the plastic tag with the barcode on it?
