Unit sales rose 7.1% YoY in July to underperform the market as a
whole. By segment, sales of Honda brand passenger vehicles fell 2.9% YoY, while those of light trucks rose 44.1%. The Accord posted a 16.2% YoY increase in sales. This was partially in response to an incentive of about $500 per vehicle implemented by the company in an effort to draw down inventories. Sales of new Accord models manufactured in the US fell 12.3% YoY, with total Accord sales coming in at 41,152 units.

Sales of the Civic fell 21.0% YoY, with US-made Civics falling 23.9%

** The new model SUV Pilot posted a slight increase to 5,361 units.

Meanwhile, sales of the CR-V jumped 55.3% YoY to 14,596 units. Minivan Odyssey sales rose 4.5% YoY. Sales of the Acura MD-X surged 50.5% YoY. The start of production at Honda's new factory in Alabama contributed to the increase in both models
