Hello,
I have to replace my engine, and I found a possibility, but it is from a 4WD Pilot, and mine is a 2WD. I don't want to convert anything, I just want to replace the engine and be on my merry way.
On my car's VIN, the 8th digit is 7, and the 6th digit is 3. EXL trim
On the proposed replacement, the 8th digit is 9, and the 6th digit is 4. Touring trim
Both say that they have the J35Z4 engine model. Both were mfg in 2013 from Lincoln, AL

Would these be completely compatible? Is there any documentation that can ease any uncertainties?

Thank you, fine folks.

I am not an expert but it is my understanding that the only differences between the FWD and 4WD is the transfer case (most likely the casing on the transmission too), propeller shaft, rear diff and transmission cooler. Everything else in the FWD and 4WD should be the same including the engine.
