I had put in $500.00 for a Redrock Pearl EX-L Res on 8th of June. Yesterday my dealer calls me to tell that, Honda may not continue the red color due to some changes at the factory etc. HOWEVER, he is expecting a BLACK EX-L Res with-in next 3 weeks, if I wanted one.

Is this true? have you heard any thing like this ? OR my dealer just wants to sell the first EX-L RES that he is getting? Please help.

Thanks.

Sounds like BS to me. He probably took a deposit on a Redrock from another customer who is willing to pay much more $$$.

I agree with Threahead. Your Redrock is going to another customer. Were you promised MSRP and maybe the dealer found another customer willing to pay OVER MSRP. Talk to other dealers. Report this in the dealer ratings section.

Thanks fellow Pilot admireres. Yes, I was promised MSRP. I will talk to the other Honda dealers and will start looking for a Red Pilot. I might even drive down to Rochester, NY like our friend here from Buffalo.
( I can not believe this dealer tried this BS on me ).

Thanks.

John Holtz is the place to buy

KEPILOT,

I've bought my last two Hondas from Holtz Honda in Rochester, NY. If you're close to Rochester, I highly recommend them. Contact Gary Wurth, 1-888-771-0551 ext 3120. Tell them Greg Roberts from Buffalo sent you. He will treat you right....with none of the normal salesman bullsh--. For example, I told him my first choice was a Evergreen Pearl EX-L, and my second choice was Redrock EX-L. He had my second choice on his lot...and available. He offered it to me as an option, but NEVER tried to push it on me. He instead concentrated on getting me what I really wanted....via a dealer trade. There's something to be said with dealing with a non-commission internet salesman. Show me another dealer that would even bother trying to do a dealer swap for a Pilot. The ones in Buffalo sure didn't want to bother making making a call for you. They just give you some line about how they have plenty of people that wll take the colors they have on the lot....which may be true....but wait until they need to sell me a car that isn't in such high demand. Give Gary a call, and I promise you'll be thanking me later.

P.S. Their website is johnholtz.com

Also....

Gary Wurth from Holtz Honda also matched Tim's pricing for the options. I would have been fine buying from Tim (as we all know he's a great guy), but it was nice being able to put my $1300 worth of options into the financing.

P.S. Gary was also going to be able to get me 4.89% financing on a 5 yr loan...very good rate. I had already arranged 6.00% financing on a 6 yr loan and didn't want to bump my monthly payment up that much..so I passed. Can't tell you what he can get you, but they do seem to have very good financing people there.

WNYPilotGuy,

In fact I am closer to Rochester than you are. I am from Syracuse, and indeed I was refering to you when I mentioned some one from Buffalo. I did not want to P_SS you off.

Thanks for the details. I will talk to your contact. It is very difficult to find an honest Pilot Sales guy. Once again thanks for this contact.

Best Regards,

KE:)

03pilot : Thanks and keep up the good work on this forum.

TO ALL :

How many of you Pilot owners have Black ones. Most I have seen here are Silver or Red. Are there no Blacks on the lot or no one likes them ?

Thanks.

I had seen 2 at a dealer here in Northern CA. They were charging 3-4K over MSRP so obviously I didn't buy from them but I did test-drive the Pilot at this dealer though.

Black autos are way too hot for South Texas. Unfortunately, the first shipment my local Honda dealer got consisted of 2 black Pilots. I opted for a white, which is due ANY DAY NOW!!!!!

:5: <--- Can't wait

Black Pilot

I had a deposit in on a Black EX-RES at Don Davis (Amherst, NY). That was the only one they could get me for an early July delivery. Unfortunately, the more I looked at the black, the less I liked it. I know lots of people that just love black vehicles, but unless it's a Lamborgini, I always seem to hate black. When I saw the Evergreen Pearl, that became my first pick (over the Redrock my previous first choice). If anyone in the Buffalo, NY area is in need of a Black EX-RES, you might be able to get your hands on the one that was previously marked for me. It's build date is this week (6/24). They were a little pissy with me buying elsewhere, but hey...I've been driving my first choice around for a 11 days now.
