My 2005 Pilot has started to have the Brake light come on for a few seconds at a time. The brake fluid is full and there appears to be no leaks. The brakes work fine. Where do I begin to look to find the cause of this?

There is a procedure to test the sensor in the FSM. Or you can just buy the replacement cap.

Not my daily driver so I can’t recall if there are two brake indicators, one for low fluid and the other for a failed bulb. If the latter take the bulbs out and verify the filament isn’t dangling instead of being properly connected.

Which indicator light is coming on?
  • If the former, check and/or change out your bulbs. Sometimes a visual only inspection may not be enough. Swap in a known good bulb to be sure.
  • If the latter, get your braking system checked, for safety's sake.
