Just to let you know... I unexpectedly needed to pull a Haulmark trailer with many side marker lights in a hurry, and didn't have a tow light kit. I spliced into the left rear tail light for running lights, left turn, and stop (through a diode so as to not co-mingle the turn and stop lights circuits on the Honda side of things). From the right side I tapped the turn signal only. All was well for a while, but the running lights drew too much current and they went out along with the left tail lights. No fuses were blown.
It turns out that all three left side running lights in the rear tie together into what looks like a small fusible link module (hidden by electrical tape wrap) in the area right before the tail light wiring assemble feeds through into the auto body. It is marked only with the number 4KE3.
So get the proper kit, or run a separate power line for the running lights and have the power the running light fore a mechanical or solid state relay!
