We all know that we could play CD in DVD player, but on mine, the sound quality(of the DVD) is way worse than the CD player.Just wonder how yours are.
Also my CD and cassette player get so hot that one time during a long trip, after playing a tape,I ejected it, the plastic labels on the sides of the tape got peeled off and stuck in the player.I also noticed that even without being played for a long period of time, they still get hot.

baoloclamdong,
My RES system sounds OK. Maybe because mine is still fairly new at less than 2 months old. I've used it for several trips (about 6 3hr. trips) now and no problems with the sound. I use the CD player all the time and the two sound pretty much the same. I'd give the service boys at Honda a call if I were you -- I just can't stand terrible sound:eek:. I miss my last system (a 210 watt Infinity system with 8 speakers), but I don't miss my last vehicle which had the system -- a '99 Mit. Montero Sport. That had to go bye-bye once the Pilot entered the market!

It's not what I mean.

You guys did not get my point.I was trying to say that there is a great difference of audio quality output between the CD player and DVD player. If I played one disc in the CD player,it would sound really good, but with the same disc played in DVD player,it would sound really poor.

I Thought I Got Your Point!

baoloclamdong,
I mentioned in the 4th sentence of my reply that "...the two sound pretty much the same." I HAVE played the same CD in both the CD player and the RES DVD player, and they sound nearly identical in my Pilot. Again, it may be because it's new -- it may be for some other reason. I don't know -- just telling you the facts about my system. I'd get the Honda dealer to look at it since it's still under warranty if I were you. It should DEFINITELY not lose sound quality in just a few months of usage.

Okay, my wife thought I was nuts, but I just went out in the Pilot and played 3 minutes of Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in both my CD player and my DVD player, and in all honesty, I couldn't tell one ioda of difference between the two -- they both sounded just fine to me. Then again, to put things in perspective, I am not the county's audiophile guru......
