Hood paint is crazing...?

The hood on one of my other cars (a 2011 Ford Focus) looks like the paint is in the early stages of crazing. It has thousands of tiny cracks (1-2 mm each) and in one area they connected into a spiderweb pattern. Is there any way to stop paint from crazing once it's started, or would I be looking at having to repaint the hood?

Pretty classical symptoms.

The only real fix is a paint job, but if you detail it and keep wax on it, you may be able to put that off for years or forever. I'm assuming that a 2011 Focus isn't required to be "show car shiny", of course.

Hey now, don't judge. If I can just get the right paint correction, I know the Concourse d'Elegance will start returning my phone calls.

Seriously, this car's paint has suffered many years of neglect, I'm surprised it's held up as well as it has.
