For the 2023, has anyone seen any documentation about whether remote start can be accessed via a keyfob or whether it's only accessible via smartphone and paid Hondalink subscription?

How did this work in prior generations?

I have been trying to figure this out as well, and I think the fob works for short distance, but you need Honda link and a subscription for longer distances. I really hope it doesn’t take a paid subscription, but I think it does.

My Buick is like that. Decent range on the remote and phone app works any distance. Car came with a 5 year subscription to the app. No idea what the monthly fee is after that but I won't be subscribing.

In order to remote start/stop, lock/unlock, etc you need “HondaLink Remote”, which is one of the paid levels of HondaLink. It’s $110/yr after a free 3-month trial subscription.

This doesn't sound right. There's no way you can't remote lock/unlock without paying the subsciption.

Can anyone confirm oneway or another? About the lock/unlock function but also the remote/start?

Did you read it. That is HONDA's page on 2023 Pilot Honda Link subscriptions plans and what you get with each. The fob will lock/unlock the vehicle as well as start it from a short distances. If you want to lock or unlock the vehicle remotely by phone or start the vehicle remotely by phone you have to buy a subscription. It is as simple as that.

I was answering the part in her question about the HondaLink app on your phone. Obviously you can lock/unlock and remote start with the key fob within its range for free.

If you are concerned that remote start isn't listed in the features on the trim level breakdowns, it is specifically covered on the complete specifications page and is shown as std on all the levels. (the title says 2022 Pilot, but it's the 2023)
