Mine works fine.
I had to clear the existing codes though.
Hold down buttons 1 and 3 for 20 seconds.
Then press and hold your existing remote and the desired homelink button until the homelink light flashes and it should work.
Our garage door opener has rolling codes so I had to press the teach button on it before it would work.
