Just curious, does burning high test gasoline allow the Pilot to generate more hp/torque. Or is this recommended with towing to prevent spark knock?

After-thought: Since compression doesn't change I guess hp/torque doesn't either. So, is there any benefits to burning HT when not towing?

No.

Only use a higher test if you hear your engine detonating (pinging). They only move up one rating to see if it goes away.

I agree with Brew, although I really hate ever hearing an engine ping. I assume the recommendation for premium gas is in order to eliminate possible detonation due to higher combustion chamber temps resulting from a continuous load on the engine.

What I do NOT understand is the need for a power steering cooler for towing. Is the PS fluid used in other systems?

Honda says "Due to higher underhood temperatures".
The PS system already has a cooler, so it must be running near the max temp that Honda wants to see already.
