Hi All:

Just want to introduce myself, I finally registered after lurking in the forum for about 1 month. I didn't want to jinx myself if I registered before getting my Pilot.

I picked up a SBP EXL-RES Pilot this weekend. I had to drive 500 miles one way to do that and another 500 going back. It's worth it though. VIN is # 602453, so I guess there's more than 100,000 of Pilot already.

Thank you for sharing your experience buying out of state, here and on edmunds forum. Special thanks to qbrozen for the encouraging words.

Welcome aboard, 5speeder! Now, you can quit lurking and start to POST!

One thing about purchasing a Pilot at a distant dealership....at least you get the pleasure of an immediate, extended "honeymoon" with your new vehicle on the way back!!! :10:

I was kind of assuming that if you drove 500 miles one way, it was likely you'd drive back too. Unless you planned to relocate as a result of your Pilot purchase.

Uh Oh. Here's comes kemo to attack me again!

thank you!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yes, I rented one way, drove about 500 miles from Jersey to OH. Pickup the car, installed perfect fit deflector, drove back to NJ the same day and made a overnight stay at one of the Holiday Inn highway hotel on hwy 80.

I was tired but happy.

BTW, that perfect fit deflector made a whistling noise once I got above 80 mph, but I'm keeping it for now.
