I’m very sad to announce that I have to sell my dear Pilot after driving it for only a month. I got laid off last week. My wife is not working and we have two small kids, so I can’t afford to keep the car without that income.
I’ve never bought a new car before because I thought it was too expensive. The Pilot is the only car that made me excited enough that I couldn’t wait until they were available used. I was planning on driving it for 15+ years, but it only lasted for a month.
I put it up for sale on eBay a few days ago. The action ends on Sunday March 9 in case anyone is interested.

Finally I’d like to praise honda-pilot.org. It’s a great forum. I got a lot of useful information from browsing the discussion threads when I was doing my research before buying the Pilot. Thanks everyone.
Good luck with your Pilots.

Ulf, you'll get through this bad time and emerge the stronger for it. Something tells me that a Pilot awaits you in the future, one that is even better than what's being sold today! Best of luck to you and your family......

Sorry to hear your sad news... and it's definitely a bummer that your first post had to be bad news. I truly hope everything works out for you and your family and perhaps one day, you'll be the proud owner of another brand new Pilot. Take care!

Cheering for you..

Hi ulf...

We are cheering and praying for you...

I was laid off last April 1st and remember it was a really trying time. I am now working for a better company and making enough money to buy my wife and I a new Pilot.

You will come out of this time stronger and with a greater outlook on life than before.

Keep smiling and loving life.

Ditto on everything, including a layoff on Feb 26 last year.

What do you do, Ulf?

HI Ulf,

Also sorry to hear about you getting laid off. Like several others, I went through it too and ended up with a better job at higher pay. Sometimes though we don't seek it out, a change is good for us.

As a wise person once told me, "Everything happens for a reason." That person is now my wife, and really accepting that statement has gotten me through some tough spots.

I have been reading the posts on here for awhile but only just registered upon reading yours and hoping to have something positive to contribute. Best wishes to you. By the way, you may want to post a link directly to the auction listing, it certainly is possible that people reading this forum might be interested.

Good luck.

Best of luck ulf!

My twin brother lost his job last December. He has since found a new job.

I'm sure a new job is waiting for you. Just stay positive. The fact you bought a Pilot reflects well on your intelligence :) ;)

It could happen to any of us, the way things are these days. Like everyone else, I pray your fourtunes will turn around soon, and that God will keep you and your family in the meantime.

Hi Alice,

Yes, that's why I recommended that a direct link be posted, which Kemosabe kindly did in a message just above... I just clicked on it, current bid is $27,701.50 but reserve price not yet met. Follow that link, you'll go right to it.

Ulf,
I'm really sorry to hear about your recent layoff. I went through something similar (a RIF) about nine years ago after 27 years with the same company. Not fun!!! But I think you will find (as have many others) that "bad things happen for good reasons" and you will someday (soon) look back at this and say the same thing.

Good luck!!!!
