Just wanted to post an update... life happened, including having to replace both cats on a Subaru Outback. Aftermarket parts for that were 500.00. I just ordered stabilizers, tie rods and lower control arms for my '03 Pilot. I'll do that one for practice, then do the '12 later this month. I'll evaluate and maybe do struts at a later date. The '03 has started creaking in the rear when you go over speed bumps, so there's work to be done there, but it's also relegated to weekend duty so I'm not in a hurry.

Sorry to revive such an old thread and I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t get a response but what you’ve described happening with your ‘03 Pilot is the same that’s happening with my ‘04. Did you ever find a solution or determine why it was squeaking in the back when going over bumps? Thanks!

Yes. the creaking is because the rear shocks needed to be replaced.

Ugh I've already tried replacing the shocks on my Pilot but that didn't seem to fix the issue. I'm pretty certain that it must be either the trailing arm or control arm bushings and am going to look into having them replaced in the near future.
