Hey guys! I just bought a 2009 Pilot. I'm a mecanician, but I'm not use to the Honda brand. I heard a knocking noise on the front head so I open it to see the cam lobe, but it is hidden under the bridge. So I took pictures of it and maybe some of you have seen their Pilot head opened and can tell me if this is a common issues with the 3.5. If I change the front cam does it gonna start as new for an other 80k miles?
(Btw sorry for my bad English I'm not using it often haha)

You'd typically get a "knock" from the bottom end of a motor. Could this be more of a loud ticking, like a watch? That would be valve clearances. You can check them since you have valves covers off, should be 0.020-0.024 intake, 0.28-0.32 exhaust.

I've never heard of cam problems on a J series motor, certainly not one with 80K miles. That motor is pretty dirty inside to only have that many miles on it though.
