My dealer quoted me $450 for the fog lights, installed.

It may seem high, but consider installation involves removing the front bumper, cutting holes in the plastic, routing wire harnesses. Not for the faint of heart!

I would consider this if I knew the lights are more than a twinkling decoration on the front of the vehicle. So many manufactures offer "Fog Lights" that don't light the road worth a darn. Some even blind on-coming drivers with uncontrolled glare. But they sure do look good! Form follows function, or function follows form?

Do any of you already have these installed? I'm interested in knowing if the lights are effective. Do they have a good, even pattern on the road? GOOD lights would be worth the price.

I would also like to know if the fog lights on the Pilot would be effective. I was one of the first folks to place fog lights on the S2000 and it certainly does'nt need them with the HID's!:D But, at any rate, I wanted them to fill the gaps. They look great and work well!

I really need to see some more pictures and/or see them in person to make a decision.

Anyone?

So has anyone used the fog lights yet???

My dealer ordered a set for thier demo Pilot, but they're on back-order.

I'm still curious if they work well or not.

Soon

Haven't actually used them yet but they are on order. I will install them myself. I did the ones on my wife's Odyssey and it wasn't so bad, but I like that kind of stuff.
The Pilot fogs look just like the ones available on the early Ody's which have great feedback on the Odyclub site. For a close up picture try www.collegehillshonda.com in their accessories area. I know some other parts people don't show the ones without the lower trim. In case you were unaware, there are two styles available.
I'm confident they will work well, like the ones on our Odyssey do.

I'm planning on getting fog lights for my pilot, but I really like the ones they put on the Pilot at the Autoshow release (I do realize it was a show car).

Any one know of different ones available (Not bolt-on)?
Has anyone installed them yet, it doesn't look easy?
Are the bezels paintable?

DIO fog lights

We had the dealer install the Honda fogs on our new Pilot. The lenses are clear and smooth (not faceted). The bezels are of the same rough material as the center bumper.

The fogs seem to light up the area immediately to the front and sides pretty well, and there is a definite vertical cut-off well below the focus point of the headlight beams. When wired up according to the instructions, the fogs work only in conjunction with the low beams.

Did you get genuine Honda fog lights?

I ordered fog lights with my Pilot. When it arrived, the dealer said fog lights have not been released by Honda; he will install them when they are available. Being the trusting person who follows theses forums, I called Honda Customer Service. The lady there confirmed that it will be late summer before fog lights are available.

Yes, absolutely. My fogs are genuine Honda and they look just like the ones on the Honda Pilot site. I don't understand why the Honda person told you this. They seem to be readily available in Florida.

Numerous other Pilot owners with installed fog lights have posted on this and other boards. I wonder what's up???

Only two screws hold cover--snug

Therein lies the problem....the curve of the cover and the bumper don't quite matchup and the two retainer screws plus the two upper retainer clips just don't have the oomph to do the job...If you think it is sloppy...check out the joining points of the roof rail sections...little sloppy too....I suppose if it is a problem that must be fixed....you could fabricate a gasket or caulk it...I plan to leave it alone...The 12mm screws are not close enough to the left and right edges...

Two fog trim options ?

The College Hills Honda site shows what I think is a neater looking recessed fog light....rather like my wife's fogs on her CRV..If so..that fit an finish may be better..

The only options I've seen for the Fog Lights depend on if you have the lower trim installed. One part number for with lower trim, another for without.

It appears the bezel is grey or black plastic. It may look nicer painted the same color as the bumper.

I liked the Fog Lights on the pre-production car show version of the Pilot, but understand the benefit of having a recessed design for production.

If only they would have just installed them at the factory and saved us all the grief of such a difficult and / or expensive installation!!!!

Got mine

My dealer (S. Texas) also told me that the lights are backordered till the end of July.

Received my fogs today from Tim at HAW... they look very well made. The 'shrouds' are pretty basic though

Backordered?

Bought Pilot on Saturday. Picked up our SS Ex on Wednesday. They had installed fog lights on Monday. They look okay. We need them because it tends to be foggy on the top of the mountain where we live.

Installed a week ago

Mine were installed at the dealer over a week ago. They came to $504 - and this is supposed to have been with a discount of 20% on parts AND labor.

Factory fogs

Had my fogs installed by the dealer for $300 (he claims his cost).

Fit is great and they really fill the gap between the hood and the low beams. IMHO the vehicle looks much better with them than without!

My fogs have been in for two weeks. I did not want to attempt the bumper cut though. My dealer will be doing that this coming Tuesday. I think all the dealers have their little, it's backordered, mine was the rear splash guards. I'm hoping they are in for Tuesday.
