I have a Pilot 2020 Black Edition. The dealer filled the tires with nitrogen (couldn’t care less to be honest). First time checking tire pressure:

  • I assume I can put “regular air” instead of N2.
  • Do I have to reset the TPMS or do something? With the previous Honda (2016 CRV EX) I had to press a button for a few seconds, the Pilot doesn’t have it, and I didn’t see anything in the menus to reset it. Do I have to do anything when filling the tires?

Thank you!

To my knowledge, the TPMS will reset after you drive a few minutes and the pressures should agree with the reading on the dash although there will be some discrepancy due to the tires warming up after you took your readings.

The 2016 had this as well and I thought it was super cool until I realized it wouldn't work for higher than standard pressure. Therefore, it never got used.

Please explain, as the data sheet I saw on the TPMS showed that it would read up to 1,200 kPa, which is 175 PSI.
