Awesome pictures, Tony! Thanks for sharing!

I love Sedona, and those pics bring back great memories of our trip two years ago. Oak Creek Canyon is the best!

I remember driving out of the canyons to the north of there near dusk. We were coming back from the Grand Canyon Train thing. The road in front of us was dark, but if you looked straight up the sky was still blue. The canyon depth and tall trees brought nightfall a little faster!

Too bad for me that it's such a looong drive from Michigan!

A great hotel out there is the Sky Ranch Lodge. It's at the top of a hill next to the Sedona Airport. Very nice place, great view, and reasonable prices.

Thanks again for sharing the pics! Looks like you guys had fun. That is so cool!

I would love to join you on the next run, but it's doubtful that I'll be dropping by from Kentucky! Great pictures. Really great scenery.

It's also great to see another S100 wax job out there. Now THAT'S the shine I've been talking about!

Thanks for sharing.

a2Pilot and xyzzy,
Talk about a long drive. In about 2 weeks my wife and I will be towing our old '81 Honda Civic to Greene, Iowa with the Pilot. That's 1700 miles each way. I'm not looking forward to the drive up there, but on the drive back we're going to Springfield, MO. to check out BassPro.:D

Fall is a great time for road trips! Towing an 81 Civic should be an easy job for the Pilot. :D

By then all the corn will be harvested in Iowa so you'll be able to see farther!:2: Though there's not much else to see. Look, more fields!

I actually enjoy the occasional long road trip. I wouldn't want to do it all the time, but it's nice to just get out and check out the scenery. I certainly hope that a few drives out west are in the picture some time in the next 10 years.

a2Pilot,
I enjoy an occasional long trip too, but this one is under a tight schedule. We have to leave right after work and drive all the way there, our only stops will be for gas and restroom. Luckly one one of my best friends will be coming on this trip too. The three of us will be able to rotate driving the Pilot. Maybe he'll like it enough to buy one himself?;) My wife is part of a wedding party for friend in Iowa, so we are hoping to make it there by Thursday 2 or 3 AM. It's normally a 29 hour drive, following the speed limits. I usually drive faster than the limits, just a little (just in case a police officer is reading this):) , but since we are towing a vehicle I imagine it will take longer. Hopefully it won't slow us down.:29:

And yes it is a good thing that the corn will be harvested before we get out there. I like to see where the deer are, before they leap in front of my Pilot.:13:

xyzzy,
If you make it this way, maybe we can have another Pilot get together. Maybe even a really HUGE Pilot rally! That would be COOL!!!:31:

Road Trip

Absolutely beautiful.

Havasu and I (married if anyone still hasn't put that together) are planning a fantasy road trip this summer that just might include Arizona. My parents (Floridians) made a wild west tour several years ago that took them all the way to San Antonio, up through your neck of the woods, the badlands, Mesa Verda, the Black Hills and finally into Canada, before swinging back down to see us, (New York at that time.) They loved it, my mom still talks about it all the time. I am hoping we can do it before the kids get too old.

So are you saying that your opinions are equal? Certainly not the case at my house. I usually have an opinion, but it just doesn't factor into the final decision in most cases.

Wow -- I didn't know you two were married. (slapping myself on forehead) I have to start paying more attention...

... this is too cool. :)
