There is still something to be said for GPS based locally cached navigation. AA/CarPlay are great until you get out of cell service.
I can see your point on that. I have my 16 non nav unit unlocked with Waze installed and that does the job as well. I'm not 100% sure about it routing without connectivity but I can check. It does store a good amount of local info in memory though.

You can download the maps to your phone so you will always have them available. It will not rely on your data connectivity. But you will need to download for the area you will be in. Obviously it's not always possible to do that in advance

So I have a 2016 EX-L. I'm looking on LKQ but want to make sure I search for the right part. I should be filtering forInfo-GPS-TV Screen

And looking for
(display screen), roof (entertainment), EX-L (leather)?
Only seeing elite right now.

Success! Got it installed. Relatively painless if you follow directions from the other threads. My #1 tip: Don’t be a hero! No matter how determined you are, your 8MM socket isn’t going to make it on that radio bolt. Got spend $5 and buy an 8MM wrench.

Everything worked except for a moment of panic with the anti theft code. I called Honda and played dumb and after some back and forth I managed to get the code. My FM presets carried over. My navigation and XM presets did not.

The anti theft that pops up in the beginning can be skipped by entering diagonostic mode. Power + back + brightness button at same time. It will go through the test processing. The mic on the 2017+ are different so it can’t complete the test process and pop up every start up. Go into diagnostics setting and manual press the complete button. When phone is connected with the car the voice Siri/google voice, phone calls, or any related mic functions the car will use the phone’s mic.

So I did that. I was actually on the phone with Honda tech support and told them I did that (the tech didn’t know much about how the radio worked). Strangely, my mic did not put up an error. I had to pull a number out of the radio to give to tech support for codes. He generated like 15 anti theft codes although strangely none labeled Pilot. We tried a few until it worked.

Pro Tip: 5 Wrong codes = 1 hour lockout according to tech support. Fortunately he guessed right on code 4.

Ordered a "Info-Gps-Tv-Screen" from a 2017 Elite and I ended up getting the rear seat entertainment roof display. WTF? lol. Guess i'll have to process an RMA.

Seems like it really depends on how they 'categorize' the part. At this point, it's just a crap shoot as I've tried comparing all their SKU, P/N, etc. and it's all different from one another.

Hey don't feel bad. I made the same mistake. It's just a crapshoot with this type of order. Luckily I found a local LKQ that accepts return. Otherwise I would have to pay for shipping. I called LKQ before ordering, but they don't have a clue. just ordered another one. This time the part description also includes the part number. Will see.

Unfortunately, i rolled the dice and lost! The nearest LKQ from me is not worth the drive :(

Let me know how it goes. There's 3 of these 'GPS' units available on LKQ for $293.

Finally got the right part. Here are some tips

1) The correct price is $326
2) part description must include "8 Display". That's the screen size of the navigation/GPS
3) Source vehicle must be 2017 or newer.

Thanks! Let me peruse LKQ and see if i can find that corresponding info :)

EDIT: like another poster stated, finding an Elite 2017 black box is like a unicorn. All i see are 2016s :(
