After almost 2 months since I agreed the price, finally picked up my Elite Blk/Blk today.

Really enjoying it thus far. Still need to spend some time in the menus and settings but I was able to easily link the phone while sitting outside the dealer and use Android Auto for the way home. Sound system sounds great. Drives and shifts smoothly. Very quiet vs our older Odyssey!

FAVORITE part? all the radar cruise/LKAS etc. I turned it all on for the highway ride home and was amazed at how you have all these little car icons alongside your Pilot icon on the dash, and the cars are the real actual vehicles being spotted by the system so you see what is in the lanes beside you as well as ahead of you, and the one you are tracking speed on is highlighted in green. It's like a fighter jet!

As earlier predicted, I don't like the HUD so just turned it off. Just too distracting and unnecessary for my taste.

Look at that engine bay! Lots of room to work in there for DIYers. A little hard to see in the picture, but on the left side you are looking down at the wheel well so lots of open space around the timing belt covers etc.

Unfortunately we just had snow here last night so I'm sure the new Pilot just got a nice road chemicals bath....oh well.....

Looking forward to driving it more!

2 months? That's nothing, by the time I get mine, it's going to be 90 days or more. I signed my purchase agreement Jan 14th and MAYBE it was built this week. If it was, still looking at 30-45 days until it gets delivered to my dealer. I might start getting a little antsy if I don't have it by Memorial Day.

Finally. Congrats Hogan, the most vocal guy on Piloteers and even more so on MDXers.
Haha for sure

Although I've taken some time away from MDXers -- except I couldn't resist poking a little fun at that Canadian dude who has literally been pleasuring himself all over his new Type S and even named it "My Shadow Hunter" haha. I think I need to just go post a pic of my car along with some badass mysterious name that I call it!

Hogan, were you able to ask your dealer about the hitch cover recall?
yes, I did. The sales guy is super nice but there was definitely deer in the headlights and "umm, I haven't heard anything about that". He did speculate (like I had) as to whether that was why my car was sitting around Alamaba for several weeks after being built while they waited to do the hitch PPO....perhaps they had an issue with those covers and were waiting several weeks to get the right ones?

I haven't looked closely underneath the hitch install as it is cold and wet outside here, but I will. But I'm not sure what would be "recalled" about the plastic cover that is on my unit. It is a plastic cover.

Separately, I see what someone was saying about using the plastic plug for the hitch....my hitch is certainly "open" on the forward facing side. I will need to go look at our Odyssey but I felt like that one was closed in front, but I may be wrong. But since this one is open and thus moisture is going to get in there anyway, I see the advice about leaving the rear side open so it can dry better

So I just drove around with my son and we wanted to try out the Low Speed Following or whatever you call it. FREAKY. Just driving around on these 35mph streets and I didn't touch the gas pedal nor the brake pedal for miles (although I was hovering over the brakes every time it needed to slow down). The Pilot will just slow and then stop when the car in front does, and then will start up from a stop once the car ahead starts accelerating again. Cool! Never had anything like these radar-assisted things in any car prior. Reality is I am not going to use it around town because it takes more energy to worry if the car is going to screw up and not stop....BUT if I commuted to work on a stop and go traffic....would be GOLDEN to use that feature.....

Congrats! You’ve provided a lot of great information on the 4th gens already so please stick around as you learn more and work with the vehicle.

I love the color combo, the silver and chrome gives it a premium look to my taste.

make sure you post up on the MDX forum what you got.

Thanks, I sure will. I won't have to do a DIY hitch but I will be doing DIY maintenance going forward.

Feels like a bunch of these are now starting to come in....I think we will see more on the road soon enough.....

One thing I am looking at is the rear storage. As of right now, I think I prefer the "lower" tray position as I think it will be better to hold groceries etc. Unless I end up fitting some folding chairs etc below that space with the tray in the "upper" position....will play with both I guess. (Note that the panel can be turned to the carpeted side or the hard side in either the upper or lower position...flexible design

My 2022 Pilot has that feature too (carpet or plastic, reversable cover), it's a nice touch that you'll enjoy.

Quick question on your radar cruise control. On the speedometer pic below, the green carrot represents the set speed (70 MPH). Do you know if the green bar represents the speed of the vehicle in front you? In the picture below, it looks you are matching the speed of the vehicle in front of you. However, as you came up on the slower car, and before your Pilot began to slow, did that green bar show up on your speedometer (i.e., the white needle would have been on 70 MPH, and the left end of the green bar that appeared would have ended at 55 MPH). My GLE has that feature, and it's a great feature in my opinion as it gives you an indication of closing speed -- it also shows up on the HUD -- does it do the same on your Pilot HUD. It appears like your Elite Pilot may have those same features, have you noticed how it works?

Good question re: the green bar spanning between 55 and 70 here. I also notice (not in this picture) that when the system picks up the local speed limit sign, it puts a little red carrot on the speedometer at the limit speed. I will do some driving with the ACC and see what that green bar is doing. The other green "haze" on the gauges is the Eco indicator that glows more when you are driving fuel efficiently. I turned that feature off later as I like a cleaner look and will drive however I drive, I don't need the green glow helping to guide me haha

Note also that the Elite has 4 different gauge settings....this one is "Round". They also have "bars" where the tach is a vertical bar to the far left, and the speedo is a vertical bar to the far right. Makes for a more open screen. I just tend to like the dials and seeing the needles move around so I opted for Round. There are 2 other settings where the dials disappear when you enter the active cruise control mode
