EX came with alloy wheels and tinted passenger and rear windows and body colored side molding among other things. EX-L included leather seats, thus for the "L" designation. Non-EX models did not have what I listed above... no alloy wheels, but had steel wheels, non tinted windows all around and black colored side moldings. So, what do you think you have now?

 

Does the VIN indicate this?

Yes....if you go to the Honda Owner Link Website and create a profile, you can see the details when you click on "My Pilot." Also you can go to online Honda parts sites like this one - Honda Parts and Honda Accessories from Bernardi Parts - Bernardi Honda Parts and Accessories - and enter you VIN in the search field. The next page will show you exactly what you have (section 4).

 

The "L" in EX-L is for leather. If you have leather upholstery, you have an EX-L.

I just found an old Vtec page. The 8th digit of the VIN tells you which version of the Pilot you have.
