When I own 2016 EXL FWD, the city driving MPG is around 20, after I switch to 2018 Touring AWD, I only get around 17. But I did use 91 gas for EXL and 87 gas for Touring, I do not know if this matters.

Is the 9 speed suppose to get better MPG? I believe I am using the same driving style for both vehicles, lol.

Is this kind of thing happening to you guys?

The AWD is a heavier vehicle and burns more gas when it has to power the rear wheels. FWD will get better gas mileage.
