Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Detroit Axle brand suspension components sold on amazon? Specifically I'm looking into the front "loaded" struts/springs and control arms for a 2005 pilot. We have some wobble/ shaking around 30-40mph.

The pilot in question has 240k miles and usually just traveling between my daughter's school and work.

Thanks for any input.

I tend to agree, on the rebranded parts, but there are some that actually do more thorough testing of the their suspension/chassis components they sell. One company that I've checked out is Partsw.com and they are similar to Detroit Axle (rebranded), but they actually use them on their vehicles and seem to provide real world testing and they also seem to back their products. Replacing the worn bushings and ball joints on the LCAs would be a cheaper and better method when using OEM parts, but with labor costs being a little crazy sometimes, you can get a complete pair of LCAs for just the labor to do one ball joint replacement. For loaded struts/springs I went with KYB brand's Strut-Plus as they are an OEM manufacturer.

If you're having a woble/shaking at specific speeds, you might have an out of balance tire(s) and or worn steering/suspension parts. If you aren't able to inspect this yourself, I would go to a reputable shop that does wheel alignment as well as tires/brakes and ask them to do an inspection, some places will do it for free, but need to call around first or get a recommendation from someone.

Yeah I've purchased a 10 piece front suspension kit from them on eBay in January 2023. It came with LCAs, Inner/Outer Tie rod ends and stabilizer end links. Fitment was good except for the inner tie rod boot I thought was too small to be extended fully. I wound up only using the outers as the inners had no play and the boot issue. I was missing a cotter pin for the LCAs.

Recently I had to warranty one outer tie rod end for the rubber dry rotting. Also on the driver's LCA, inside rear bushing rubber cracked. Just needed to cover shipping for the parts. Pretty good customer service.

I don't have experience with their struts. I bought some cheap FCS from RockAuto at the same time as the suspension kit. I can tell you they've gone soft in a year. So if you're keeping the car for a while, get some quality struts like KYB. I just replaced the rears with KYB and it's better but will need to do the fronts soon.

As for the wobble/shake it could be wheel balance or one of these suspension parts. Don't go right to shocks (though at 240k you've got to be due to change them out). For me I had a really loose tie rod end which caused a lot of wobble and play in the steering. I had changed out all those parts and front struts at the same time. Really improved the drivability.

For my Ridgeline, I bought MOOG lower control arms from RockAuto.

Thanks for the reply it is helpful. I'm not trying to fix the wobble with the parts cannon, these parts are in need of replacement due to age. Front and rear brakes were just rebuilt / replaced last year along with new front tires which helped a lot.

I'm comfortable changing out most parts, the only things that really concern me are macpherson struts (that is while I'm going with the pre assembled struts, alignment and timing belts. I'm having a local shop do the timing belt and an alignment after I swap the front struts and control arms. Honda dealer wants $1600 to do the timing belt along with water pump, local shop wants $1100 for the same thing.
