Daytime Running Light?

2245 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  TheWorm
Hi All,

Guess I am just too picky about the head lights.

Here are my questions:
1. Does Pilot come with the daytime running light?
2. Suppose I leave the head lights switch to "on" and then take out the key. Will the Pilot make "beep-beep" sound, or it will shut off the lights for me?

Thanks for the help!

I can tell you about the EX model. (Maybe it is true for LX as well).

I am not sure if they come with DRL's or not BUT, if you leave the head-lights on and turn the ignition off, after a few seconds the head-lights go off automatically. Since they were left on when you turn it off, obviously when you turn the engine on, they will come back on too. So you could leave the head-lights on all the time (This is what the salesman said).

DLR-?

Hopefully enough members have their Pilots by now that someone can answer the question "Do they have DLRs"? I really don't think they do because the literature doesn't mention them and I would if I were in charge of advertising. Anyone know for sure?
DTRs

Only Canadian Pilots have DTRs. They are not available on U.S. units. The question is, can you retrofit with a Canadial relay/wiring?
I should have bought my Pilot in Canada.

They get DRL's, Heated Leather seats, and Heated mirrors too.

Leaving your head lights on all the time puts on your dash, tail and low beams at full power
They will burn out over time.
DRL's use only your high beams at reduced power.
If the wiring philosophy & execution are similar to the MDX (probably are) then you won't be able to retrofit DRLs onto a US unit...while the primary part in the Cdn MDX is a signle DRL control unit, there's no place to plug it in on a US unit...we had hoped there'd be just an empty harness but it simply isn't there...looking @ the MDX service manual confirmed that the harness/wiring is different (subtle difference) as is one of the other control modules.

I actually added an aftermarket DRL to ours...and am happy w/it. Here's a link on the MDX board: http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3016
