Hello all,

I intalled the cross bars on my Pilot last night, I have a concern that I wanted to find out about. The screws on the top of the cross bars are open, are there any problems with the rusting of the screws? I am not sure why honda didn't have anything to cover the screw holes.

Let me know know if anyone experienced rusting on those screws.

Thanks

Screws on top of the crossbars are open so that you can loosen and slide the crossbars if needed. I would not be concern with screws rusting.

Could they be stainless? Check the bolts with a magnet, if they don't stick to the magnet then they are stainless.

Shouldn't be a problem, the screws have a black oxide coating which make them rust resistant. If they ever do start to rust, you could always replace them - they probably cost about 60¢.

Been over a year and 22,000 miles and still no rust in the screws or crossbars.
