Beware of a sharp edge on the console trim. The edge scraped
my wifes elbow when she rested it against the console. The
sharp edge is where the metallic looking trim joins the vinyl. Will
take this issue up with the dealer on our next visit.

There are a number of sharp edges I've found.
The one you mention.
Where the center console pad meets the plastic edge.
The bottom edge of the cruise/ radio steering wheel buttons.

Yes, a friend of mine tried out a Pilot the other day, and she grabed on to the console when she was getting in.. She cut here arm on the damn thing! she showed Honda here wound and they were jumping like they were going to get sued or something..

Does anyone know if the newer Pilots still have this sharp edges?

any Honda fixes?

I'll check mine and let you know... i noticed a similar edge on some partson the ligtgate on mine.... basically it is flash from the molding process which means the line of stuff taht leaked out on the part where the 2 halfes of the mold come together, it shouldnt be there.
If a part comes out this way they can trim the flash and need to if people are getting injured.


It would indicate a rush for parts and quality check skipping to get stuff out the door... add this to the many posts that question quality levels.

I do not have most the major problems (window scrunch etc.) reported in this forum on my Pilot. But I do have the minor irritants like these sharp edges.

There was a separate thread indicating that the console has been discontinued (replaced by another part#). So maybe the problem has been fixed in the latter models.

Thanks guys for all the info, The Pilot that she tried out came in about 3 months ago, so it may have the old console in it..

(That is sure strange that they can not sell the Pilot on the lot but they have people waiting for them on order)

Yes, mine has sharp edges on the trip. Seems like poor quality finishing....

No sharp edges here, but the grey paint is getting pretty scratched up. It's not very durable. :28:
