Code 77 communication line, PCM ECU fail

Been having some problems where I keep getting random misfires and rich fuel banks. Have changed out my O2 sensors, egr valve, spark plugs. Have tested my fuel pump and it’s operating under normal conditions.

The symptoms I’ve been getting is an occasional shut off when in idle and I haven’t warmed up more than 5 min. Have been feeling almost like a loose hose and loss in power when it’s warming up.
When running a diagnostic with my reader I got this code. And when looking up symptoms of a faulty PCM ECU, these seem to be the exact symptoms.

My question is, has anyone ever swapped an ECU PMC for a 05 pilot? I reached out to some companies and these apparently aren’t plug and play. I would have to get a completely new one, or get a refurbished one and have the dealer program it to my car.
If anyone has done this I would appreciate some feedback.

Have you cleared the carbon from the EGR system? The system is circular. The EGR is connected to the intake plenum, and goes through the exhaust. The clogging happens at the pipe and channels going into the intake system. From the EGR valve a pipe goes up into the intake plenum, and through channels that feed into each cylinder. Take off the top plate to the plenum and you will some carbon, on the driver side you will see some passages as well. Remove the EGR valve and you can clean the carbon without removing the intake plenum, but it is much easier to do so. You will need to get creative in how to clear the carbon from the port between the EGR and intake plenum. Spray some carb cleaner down the port and if you don't see the carb cleaner come out where the EGR valve is after removing it, you have to clear out the carbon so that the EGR system can breath.

Do you push your VTM-4 button? If so, when?
Yes I do and I push it when I’m in tricky areas when off-roading. Sand, mud and tricky snow. Always keeping it in conditions that the manual directs.

The problem that I’ve had is that both the check engine light and vtm4 light up, disabling the function.

You only want to use it if you are literally stuck. I wouldn't use it as a precaution to not get stuck. The system is active and somewhat intelligent, and will do it's best to keep you from getting stuck without you pushing the button. The button "locks" the two rear wheels, and not needed since the system will actively lock each independent wheel to keep you moving as it needs it. I would only use it if you are at a stand still, and you are stuck.
Have you changed the VTM-4 fluid recently?
Swap the coil pack to cylinder #4 since it is easier to remove than #5 and see if the misfire migrates or stays.
That was the next thing I was going to swap. The ignition coils to see if that would alleviate the problem. And yes vtm4 fluid as well as the temp senso was swapped about 3k miles ago.

And correct, I’ve only engaged the vtm4 when stalled out in terrain.
