Anyone buy an EX cloth and have the dealer install a Honda in-vehicle entertainment system. Is it the same as RES? Are the DVD controls and disc loader mounted in the dash with the radio? I received a quote of $2200 to install i-ves with cloth EX. That's only $400 cheaper than EX-L with RES but I think I would prefer cloth. I know there are aftermarket products but I'd rather have something that integrates well with the vehicle. Thanks.

I saw a red EX with cloth and the Honda DVD in Danbury CT (management demo vehicle with add ons), but it was sold when I got there - someone has it... I don't know how much they paid but the sign on the car listed a price that was around 30800 (i think - it was 4 weeks ago) with 11000 miles on it... I got a new EXL RES for less than that...

Thats just what they want you to think so they can keep more of your money. From what I've read I don't think the I-VES will be any better integrated than any aftermarket system. You won't get the steering wheel controls of the RES, and you'll have to use an FM modulator to listen to the sound.

Shop around some of these sites and visit a local installer and you'll probably find just as good of a system for hundreds less.
