Actually just ordered one from RA for the next timing belt change in a few years. I'll already have it on hand and won't forget to use the spring-mounted tensioner instead of a potentially leaky hydraulic one when the time comes.

All opinions welcome.

Following recent discussions in different threads.

My last OEM tensioner (fitted by local Honda dealer) failed @ 98,000 miles (6 years) causing the tbelt to jump. The first tensioner (fitted from the factory) was leaking but working when changed at 8 years and 90,000 miles.

For me, it is not an issue of price but reliability.

Pay your money and take your chances.

The spring one is the old design........
But is it more reliable?
